NECROLOGIST: A GUITAR PLAYER

At the end of a dream if you know where I mean when the mist just starts to clear, In a similar way at the end of today I could feel the sound of writing on the wall, It cries for you it's the least that you can do Like a spiral on the wind I can hear it screaming in my mind... Long Live Rock n Roll!!! Long Live Rock n Roll!!! Long Live Rock n Roll!!!

Necrologist Guitar Lesson: What is a "D" - Tunning

March 24, 2009

Hi there folks, its time to have some lesson… some of my folks just asked me recently that, what the hell have I done to my guitar… one of the guy tried to play it using G - chord but then it sound no good… he thought that my guitar was in bad shape or rather was not tuned properly. I just simply told him that it was tunned on “Open D”… hey what was that????

This Open D Tunning was tought to me long time ago by my Master “Paolo Artemio David Blaquera”  whom I wasnt able to see him for some quite of years now… I just simply heard about him that his still the best Paolo Master Guitar Player i had knowned because some young folks who is in guitar playing also able to know him… Long Live Paolo!!! Long Live Rock n Roll.

Going back on d tunning it goes like this… this is usefull when playing blues huh! because all you have to do is slide a single finger on the frets of your guitar and then thats it! You’ll get a decent chord then.

To tune:

  • Set the tune of your 6th string from standard E down a tone to D. Check the tuning with the fourth (D) string.
  • Then try to tune your third string down a semitone to F#(sharp). Check the tuning with the fourth fret of your fourth string.
  • Almost done… tune your 2nd string down a tone to A. Check the tuning with the 5th (A) string.
  • Finally, tune your 1st string down a tone to D. Check the tuning with the fourth (D) string.

Well then check it out … if it sounds awful… try to redo all tunning. Enjoy rockin…. Long Live Rock n Roll

Necrologist Presents: Guns N’ Roses Still Rocks

March 3, 2009

Long Live Rock n Roll!!! Hey dudes, it so happened that I tried to manipulate my PC when the media player randomly played the first song brought to you by the Guns N Roses… the song entitled “Paradise City” Hey I had seen this video of them singin in the stage with the crowd (a lot of). It was an ideal concert, that was one awesome concert huh! Also because of the lyrics of the song I liked it… the chorus goes like this….

Take me down
To the paradise city
Where the grass is green
And the girls are pretty
Take me home

I sure you guys will agree with me for these huh! Long Live Rock N’ Roll!!!

Necrologist Presents: Ritchie Blackmore - Live from the Temple of the King

February 26, 2009

Hey dude, I had seen this video a lot of times just like the video of Steve Vai with an orchestra play “For the Love of God” which was featured in this blog of mine.

This is like a reminiscin’ of the good ‘ol rock n roll times… but  this time, its a solemn version of the Temple of the King by the band called “Rainbow” and of course  courtesy of the guitar player called “Ritchie Blackmore”

Without even lookin at the video, the music itself tells, feels the warmth of the 70’s rock n roll… part that I waitin of was the guitar solo which definitely fills what I expect from a Guitar Master… plus the crowd that joins the rhythmn of the music… Such a master piece and till now still lives on… Long Live Rock n Roll!!!

Necrologist Presents: Ozzy Osbourne - Till Now

February 17, 2009

Long Live Rock n Roll… From Black Sabbath till as a single artist, Ozzy Osbourne still rocks..

Recently, there was a music video that was keep on aired in a certain action channel in the Philippines… Their was a guy who lifted his guitar while tryin to sustain a note on it… Wow!!! it was Zack Wylde… One of my most admired guitarist… then followed by a bass drum beat that’s so bossy accompanied by a bass line… I thought it was somethin kind of Black Label Society  stuff… then there it came the vocalist of the song… Ozzy Osbourne … started to sing these line…

I don’t know what they’re talking about
I’m making my own decisions
This thing that I found
Ain’t gonna bring me down
I’m like a junkie without an addiction

Then as he proceed to the Chorus of the Song goes like this…

All my life I’ve been over the top
I don’t know what I’m doing,
All I know is I don’t wanna stop
All fired up, I’m gonna go till I drop
You’re either in or in the way
Don’t make me, I don’t wanna stop

Just by listenin to it once… all I wanna do is I don’t wanna stop listenin to it… almost… Long Live Rock n Roll
