Necroloigist Presents: Wolfgang - Halik Ni Hudas (Kiss Of Judas)
October 29, 2008 Here comes Basti Artardi for that warrior like vocals, drummer Wolf Gemora, guitarist from Spain Manuel Legarda, bassist Mon Legaspi. This Filipino Band was the first to inspire me to pursue further in guitar playing, not being contented in guitar basics but to want more to achieve guitar slashing skills. This song that is being featured in this blog was their first hit song Halik Ni Hudas… I even saw them play this in that famous “Club Dredd”… I was 14 that time and all I can do was drop my jaw as they tried to crush the crowd.
Long Live Rock n Roll!!! Check this out during their Acostica Concert…
Necrologist: The First Battle of the Band Champion
October 27, 2008These are the people involved as the First Battle of the Band Champion in their campus.
THE VOCALISTS:
That is Jesil Rosal in stripes, one of the female vocalist of the band then that woman besideher is also the the vocalist of the band is Julie Grace who is responsible of the high notes heh and unfortunately the male vocalist who is not present on that time is Joseph Artuz who later on decided to move to the other band.
THE AXE MEN:
The that holds the guitar is ofourse Michael Asignacion, the lead guitarist of the band, he remind me of how am I doin during his age while playin the guitar. Take note of this guy, he recently able to perform one of the song of Megadeth which he was proud of doin it… a rising star.
Then the man in stripe… the bulky guy, the hard headed among them all. a man who performs while having an injury… the bassist of the band is Ronald Dela Cruz. This guy is easy to teach, but so hard to manipulate
THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY:
Its Edgar Muros who is during that time able to strike to drums but not much of the experience… ofcourse… constant practice… on the following year, Edgar became the vocalist of the band which made them achieve Back to Back Title
BEHIND THE IRON CURTAIN:
The guy with that red cap is Dwight Ferrer… the rodeo of the band… not much of him but too much of effort
Then obviously its the Necrologist in Orange… a waste of time and effort had given to the band… lik a baby sitter to these teenagers but manage to form then very well… took away those nervousness during the performance and highten the band’s self-esteem.
Long Live Rock n Roll
Necrologist Presents: Tribute to Frank Zappa - Smoke On the Water
October 23, 2008
We all came out to montreux On the lake geneva shoreline To make records with a mobile We didnt have much time Frank zappa and the mothers Were at the best place around But some stupid with a flare gun Burned the place to the ground Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
They burned down the gambling house It died with an awful sound Funky claude was running in and out Pulling kids out the ground When it all was over We had to find another place But swiss time was running out It seemed that we would lose the race Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
We ended up at the grand hotel It was empty cold and bare But with the rolling truck stones thing just outside Making our music there With a few red lights and a few old beds We make a place to sweat No matter what we get out of this I know well never forget Smoke on the water, fire in the sky
Necrologist: Common Guitar Effects
Distortion, fuzz or Overdrive - this is commonly used by the rockers to change the sound by their axes (guitar or bass guitar) which produce a rich sound, a warm thickness and sustain to the original tune. Usually on its extreme level it is noisy, bossy sound, crunch or thrash. Usually rock guitar player use this in slashing some pentatonics in their solo part on the music
Chorus - shimmering sound of guitar or I call this as cold sound projected by the guitar.
Wah Pedal - ofcourse, it produce a WaaaH!!! sound or this “crying” sound
Delay or Echo Pedals - by the word itself of course you expect that everytime you strike thy string there would be a delay of sound in its projection, for the echo then ofcourse a projection of the copy of sound that had been projected.
Unfortunately, there are lots of guitar players out there especially in the Philippines that are so talented yet they were not able to use some of these basic gadgets mentioned above because of limit capability (cash) as well as availability of the gadget, but these are not reasons not to strive more in guitar playing, improvise… that’s all we can have for the meantime.
Necrologist: My Dream Guitar - Ibanez JIM7V
October 21, 2008Long Live Rock n Roll!!!
Most of Steve Vai’s fanatics are so familiar of this guitar … I saw him use this guitar a lot of times specifically the one that you can usually see on the youtube.com where Vai plays this guitar with the orchestra…
Why I call this as a “Dream Guitar?” simple… because it was used by my idol Steve Vai… we knew that… here’s the simple truth:
-
Contoured body with 24-fret Prestige neck provides easy access to all registers.
-
Deep routed Lion’s Claw tremolo cavities allow pitches to be radically lowered and raised.
-
Vai’s choice of specific DiMarzio® pickups for each model combined with Ibanez Split-5 wiring provide incredible tonal versatility.
-
Steve Vai’s Universe – the guitar that ignited 7-string revolution – allows almost effortless transition from 6- to 7-string techniques
-
See, what else do you want from a guitar???
Special Thanks to www.ibanez.com/ for these information
Till next time dudes… Long Live Rock n Roll!!!
